Off Road 4x4 driving is one of the most thrilling forms of driving you will ever experience. The ability of these vehicles is amazing. Our purpose built training course offers climbs and descents which seem impossible. The feeling of driving a vehicle along a 35 degree side slope, or down a 50 degree descent is unparalleled.

With expert instruction, this popular recreational activity is one which all can enjoy. Whether you are 18 or 80, 5ft nothing or 6ft 6, this activity is sure to produce an adrenaline rush at 5 miles an hour.

Whether you choose this activity as a stand alone event or part of a multi-activity day, this is definitely an experience not to be missed. Whatever the weather, you will be amazed, not only at the capabilities of these vehicles, but at your own ability to coax them over terrain which you would never have thought possible. Our courses range from an introductory two hour session, ideal as gifts, through to intensive one or two day vocational courses.

With expert tuition in one of our 4 wheel drive vehicles, our recreational courses are ideal for those wanting a taste of the off-road driving experience.

As members of BORDA (the British Off Road Driving Association), we adhere to the highest standards of training, ensuring that all drivers achieve the level of competency required prior to tackling any terrain off the public highway. All training is carried out in accordance with the 'Codes of Practice' documentation produced by BORDA.

Following a briefing you will climb into the vehicle with the instructor who will demonstrate a few manoeuvres, providing you with a pattern to follow, then it's off to 'Sunnybank', our beginners training area, where you take the driving seat as driver under instruction.

Please be advised that to comply with our insurance requirements you must hold a full current driving licence to participate in any motorised activities. For BORDA certificated courses, you will be required to present either your photo licence or paper licence with another form of photo ID on arrival.

BORDA STAGE 1
(Recreational and occassional light industrial use)

BORDA Stage 1 is a full day course, ideal for those using 4 wheel drive vehicles for recreational or light industrial purposes. You will be tutored and assessed throughout the day, increasing your understanding and knowledge of the fundamental principles of Off-road 4x4 driving. The in depth instruction and feedback throughout the course will enable our instructors to build a clear picture of your strengths enabling discussion of any areas which may need further development.

You will be notified by your instructor on the day as to whether or not your pass mark has been achieved. Successful candidates will receive a BORDA Stage 1 certificate through their letterbox shortly after.

Vocational Training

BORDA STAGE 2

BORDA Stage 2 is typically a two day course. Re-iterating the principles covered by BORDA Stage 1, this course then progresses to cover a wider range of aspects of Off Road Driving. The course comprises a combination of theoretical and practical tuition. Following a detailed briefing you move on to the practical driving. The course starts with the fundamental principles of driving technique and moves through to advanced driving, terrain awareness and basic recovery techniques.

All students are assessed continually with a final assessment taking place at the conclusion of the course. Your instructor will inform you as to whether or not you have achieved the required standard to qualify for your BORDA Stage 2 certificate. Good Luck !!!
